1935 - Nordisk contributes to Niels Bohr’s research
Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium and Nordisk Insulin Foundation donate significant sums of money over the years to research by Danish physicist and Nobel Laureate Niels Bohr. In 1935, Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium awards a special grant of DKK 15,000 and also provides money for purchasing radium on the occasion of his 50th birthday. In 1938, Bohr receives another special grant of DKK 15,000, and Nordisk Insulinlaboratorium donates DKK 10,000 in 1945 and DKK 50,000 in 1955 towards establishing the Niels Bohr scholarship. The Novo Foundation also awards a grant for the same purpose.
