2010 - Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability

The Novo Nordisk Foundation awards a grant of DKK 700 million (€94.2 million) to establish the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability [link] at the Technical University of Denmark. The Center focuses on developing new knowledge and technologies to help facilitate a transformation from the existing oil-based chemical industry to a more sustainable bio-based society in which chemicals are produced biologically. The Center opens in 2011 and is part of the Foundation’s cluster of research centres.The photo shows the CEO of the Center, Bernhard Palsson, at the inaguration of the Center.
