The Novo Nordisk Foundation wishes to strengthen the collaboration and create a strong synergy between research groups within the established Steno Diabetes Centers and to research environments outside the Centers.
A close and strong collaboration is important to disseminate knowledge and exchange experience across the research institutions.
Due to the collaborative purpose, the project must comprise a PI and 1-4 co-PIs. The PI should be from a Steno Diabetes Center or from a Steno Partner institution.
The research group must consist of at least one person from a Steno Diabetes Center, and co-applicants employed at a university, hospital or other non-profit research institution in Denmark or abroad.
A high degree of cooperation and achievement of synergy between the participants in the projects is important to ensure sharing of new knowledge and experience between research institutions.
Funding is for grants from DKK 100.000 and up to DKK 25 million for projects with a grant period of up to 4 years.
Funding is available for e.g. direct project costs and operating expenses, small equipment, travel costs, publication costs and salary for research and technical assistance. In addition, salary of a qualified substitute clinician to undertake the clinical responsibilities of the PI.
The application must be completed and submitted in English using the foundation’s application system NORMA.
