The panel’s purpose is to advise the foundation about humanitarian and development aid initiatives, including grants, partnerships and strategies, thereby strengthening the implementation of the foundation’s strategy and programs in this area.
In 2019, the foundation launched a new humanitarian and development aid strategy with two specific focus areas: To enhance the prospects of young refuges and other vulnerable youth in the areas and countries affected by the Syrian crisis. And secondly, combating Non-Communicable Diseases in the previous mentioned regions as well as East Africa.
The advisory panel has a diverse membership of both Danish and international experts with many years of experience, strong international networks and deep knowledge within their respective field, including public health, sustainability and human rights as well as insight from the local contexts.
The Humanitarian and Development Aid Advisory Panel was established in 2020 and consists of five external members. Lars Much participates as representative of the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Board of Directors and Flemming Konradsen, Senior Vice President, chairs the Panel.
