The Novo Nordisk Foundation has elected Barbara Casadei and Lars Green to its Board of Directors as Lars Fugger and Liselotte Højgaard step down.
Barbara Casadei is the British Heart Foundation Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, and Head of the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London. She is the founder of EuroHeart, an initiative supporting the assessment and improvement of quality of cardiovascular care in Europe. Barbara Casadei is a Fellow of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences and holds the highest honour from both the British Cardiovascular Society and the European Society of Cardiology. Previously, Barbara Casadei served as President of the European Society of Cardiology and throughout her career, she has been recognised internationally with prestigious lectureships and awards from institutions including Harvard Medical School.
Lars Green brings over three decades of leadership experience in the health care and life science industry. He joined Novo Nordisk A/S in 1992, and has held various financial leadership positions. Most recently, Lars served as Chief Financial Officer of Novozymes A/S until 2023. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of LEO Foundation, the Board of Directors of LEO Pharma A/S, H. Lundbeck A/S and Pharmacosmos A/S. He is also Vice Chair on the Danish Committee for Corporate Governance.

Professor Lars Fugger steps down having been a member of the Board for 12 years, while Professor Liselotte Højgaard has served on the Board since 2018.
