The Foundation Offers New Pre-graduate Scholarships

The purpose of the scholarships is to give students the opportunity of pursuing a career in science.

students choosing a career in research after the completion of their studies.

Research experience is often gained during the graduation projects.

Therefore, the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Committee on Medical and Natural Sciences Research now invites pre-graduate students in educations with short graduation projects (≤30 ECTS) at the faculties of health sciences to carry out a 12-month pre-graduate scholarship.

Worth up to DKK 150,000, each scholarship will cover the student’s salary (DKK 8,000 per month) and allows the student to take leave of absence from his/her normal studies and carry out a research project of their choice. The scholarship also covers the expenses of a supervisor related to the running costs of the specific project (up to DKK 4,500 per month).

The student’s supervisor should be an established research leader at a university or hospital in Denmark.

With the initiative, the Novo Nordisk Foundation seeks to establish a close interaction between ambitious students and the research environments at the faculties of health sciences. The purpose of the scholarships is to give students the opportunity of pursuing a career in science.

Up to 25 scholarships will be awarded starting in 2015.

The first pre-graduate scholarships are now open for application. The deadline for applications is September 25.
