Jens, Simon and Israel are lecturers at Aalborg University, where for more than 60 years they have dedicated their time and expertise to promoting interest in space technology among the university’s students.
Their most significant contribution is facilitating an active study environment, where students have designed, developed and constructed satellites and a Mars rover, which have helped explore challenges and solutions for future missions. This voluntary effort has provided the students with experience equivalent to two years of professional work.
The team has fostered a fascination for space technology among students through lectures, teaching and workshops. They have served as supervisors for over 100 semester and thesis projects, creating motivating and meaningful project courses. Their collaboration has ensured continuous progress in the academic student associations and played a central role in recruiting new students.
The award honours Jens, Simon and Israel for their great efforts in creating motivation and engagement for space among secondary school students and university students.
