Center for Pharmaceutical Data Science Education (CPDSE) was established in 2024 as a collaboration between the University of Copenhagen and the University of Southern Denmark. Its mission is to strengthen the link between data science and drug discovery and development at all relevant university education programmes in Denmark.

CPDSE is established in recognition of the importance of pharmaceutical data science in the continued growth of the healthcare sector, and of Denmark maintaining a leading role world-wide in this sector. The centre will ensure that universities foster a new generation of professionals who are bilingual in both pharmaceutical sciences and data science.

The centre will advance the adoption and implementation of pharmaceutical data science at Danish universities, boosting the societal relevance of bachelor’s and master’s degrees, PhDs and the qualifications obtained via life-long learning activities.

CPDSE will operate in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as industry, pharmacies and hospitals that are in great need of a workforce that is bi-lingual in data and pharmaceutical science.

A total of DKK 123 million has been committed towards CPDSE over a six-year period, through co-funding with the Lundbeck and LEO Foundations. The Novo Nordisk Foundation has awarded DKK 50 million.
