Join the Novo Nordisk Foundation for an inspiring open lecture by Professor Vincent Eijsink from Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), recipient of the 2026 Novonesis Biotechnology Prize.
In his lecture, Professor Eijsink, will share insights from his groundbreaking discovery of a new type of enzyme activity and a new paradigm for how nature is degrading recalcitrant plant polysaccharides. He will also present the latest research on Lytic Polysaccharide Monooxygenases (LPMOs) and their applications.
The prize is awarded in recognition of his essential role in identifying and functionally characterising oxidative enzymes that break down challenging polysaccharides. These insights have advanced our understanding of biological processes and enabled more sustainable industrial production of fuels, chemicals and materials. Read more about the prize here.
The lecture offers a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge biotechnology research and to meet fellow researchers and professionals during the reception and networking session.
