The Novo Nordisk Foundation is supporting the Nexa Climate and Health Innovation Programme co-led by Science for Africa Foundation and Grand Challenges Canada.
Informed by the largest-ever climate and health survey on health and humanitarian workers in low- and middle-income countries, Nexa supports locally-led innovations that help communities anticipate, adapt, and respond to climate-related health threats with a focus on extreme heat, mosquito-borne infections, and poor air quality in Africa.
In this call, Novo Nordisk Foundation will support innovations that protect people living with cardiovascular diseases or diabetes from the impacts of extreme heat. Other partners to the call, will be supporting other focus areas of the call.
Science for Africa Foundation and Grand Challenges Canada will be managing the call process through their own application portal, including eligibility check, due diligence, innovation screening and peer review. Nexa partners, including the Novo Nordisk Foundation, will, hereafter, select between successful applicants. This means, that even a successful application focusing on cardiometabolic diseases and heat may receive funding from other Nexa partners than the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
If you are selected for funding by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, you will be offered a grant agreement by the Novo Nordisk Foundation under normal terms and conditions.
