The Fortified Whole Grain Alliance has already helped around 850,000 school children in East Africa access locally sourced fortified whole grain foods. With support from Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation, the Alliance partnered with the Rwandan government to scale up fortified whole grain foods in school meals. As a result, Rwanda is set to become the first country to achieve universal coverage – reaching more than 4 million children from 2026 onwards.
