Home Grown School Feeding – research component

Beskrivelse

Home-grown school meals address food insecurity and promote sustainable agricultural practices, linking nutrition with climate-smart farming. We recently announced a new partnership with the World Food Programme, alongside the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Grundfos Foundation, to expand the home-grown school meals programme in East Africa.

This collaboration has a strong focus on research and knowledge sharing, with research activities to be carried out by the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition, and the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC).

These partners aim to bridge crucial knowledge gaps by focusing on climate-smart production for smallholder farmers and enhancing the nutritional quality of school meals.
