It is often a winding road to success for an entrepreneur. At BII, the start-ups receive help to take the first steps to embark on an entrepreneurial journey filled with ups and downs.

Jens Nielsen, CEO of BioInnovation Institute, will deep dive into some of the key learnings that BII has made since its inauguration in 2018 and showcase some of the essential elements in BII’s program that are crucial in helping academic founders succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Through different start-up stories he will also touch upon the fact that even though no life science start-up journey is completely alike there are still some key approaches on how to work with life science innovation that can be applied with success to bring research to the market to the benefit of people and society.

You will also meet two inspiring cases from BII.

About BII:
In 2017, The Novo Nordisk Foundation awarded EUR 53 million over three years to establish BII. In the fall of 2018, BII cut the ribbon to its new offices and lab facilities after months of intensive work. Right from the beginning, life science entrepreneurs flocked to BII, resulting in much more applicants than available spots in its programs. Just two years later, BII was spun out as an independent foundation with long-term financing from the Novo Nordisk Foundation of up to EUR 470 million over 10 years.
