Four Clinical Research Fellowships Awarded

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has awarded its first four Clinical Research Fellowships at Steno Diabetes Center.

The Fellowships are awarded to promising clinical researchers from the Nordic countries wishing to carry out a 5-year Clinical Research Fellowship Program at Steno Diabetes Center, Copenhagen, Denmark. With the program, clinical researchers early in their career will have the opportunity to develop their own line of research at the Steno Diabetes Center, within the areas of focus of the Center and its clinic.

The four recipients are:

Isabel Bondia-Pons, PhD, Steno Diabetes Center,
Kristine Færch, PhD, Steno Diabetes Center,
Anette Prior Gjesing, PhD, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research,
Peter Spégel, Assistant Professor, Lund University Diabetes Centre.

Each of the four recipients will obtain funding of up to DKK 7.5 million, which includes a yearly budget of DKK 1.5 million for five years, for salary and running costs of the project.

The aims of the Fellowship Program are: to attract, retain, and encourage excellent researchers in the Nordic countries; to contribute to strengthening the research environment at Steno Diabetes Center; and to combating diabetes and its related complications worldwide. The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Nordic Research Committee awards the Fellowships.
