Liselotte Højgaard joins the Board of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Mads Grøn, Anne Marie Kverneland and Lars Bo Køppler have been elected as employee representatives on the Board for the next 4 years.
Liselotte Højgaard has considerable research experience and in-depth insight into Denmark’s healthcare system obtained from leading positions at Rigshospitalet and the University of Copenhagen and as Chair of the Danish National Research Foundation.
Liselotte Højgaard has headed Rigshospitalet’s Department of Clinical Physiology, Nuclear Medicine & PET since 2000 and is Professor of Medical Technology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen and Adjunct Professor of Advanced Imaging, Technical University of Denmark. As Chair of the Board of the Danish National Research Foundation, she has considerable experience in developing and implementing research programmes. In 2017, she published a book (in Danish) on how to get the world’s best healthcare system.
Liselotte Højgaard joins the Foundation’s Board, filling the vacancy left by Bo Ahrén, who retired in December 2017.

In addition, three employee representatives have been elected to the Board of the Foundation for the next 4 years: Mads Grøn, Auditor, Novo Nordisk A/S; Anne Marie Kverneland, Laboratory Technician and union representative, Novo Nordisk A/S; and Lars Bo Køppler, Technician and union representative, Novozymes A/S.
Anne Marie Kverneland and Lars Bo Køppler have been members of the Board for the past 4 years. Mads Grøn joins the Board for the first time, replacing Désirée Asgreen, Project Director, Novo Nordisk A/S.
