New film offers an insight into Testcenter Danmark

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has awarded up to DKK 250 million to Statens Serum Institut (SSI) in connection with the establishment of Testcenter Danmark, a national COVID-19 test centre.

Testcenter Danmark will help to ensure testing of more people for the new coronavirus. The grant from the Foundation will help to carry out up to 3 million tests.

In the film, Kåre Mølbak, Executive Vice President at SSI, offers an insight into the plans of the Center, and Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen, Executive Vice President, Head of R&D and Chief Science Officer, Novo Nordisk A/S, talks about the development of a new antibody test that will soon be ready for large scale use at the Center.

Testcenter Danmark is anchored at SSI and has been established in close collaboration between the Danish state, the Danish regions, the national preparedness system and hospitals including Rigshospitalet, as well as the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk A/S. Through this unique collaboration between public and private actors, the new Testcenter Danmark has been established in less than one month.
