Novo Nordisk Foundation Participating in a New Knowledge Centre for Foundations in Denmark

Many of Denmark’s largest foundations have come together to create a new knowledge centre for foundations. The centre aims to raise public awareness of foundations and their activities and to publicize new research on topics relevant to the foundations.

The knowledge centre, which will be established in the first 6 months of 2018, will be called the Knowledge Centre for Foundations in Denmark. The aim of the Centre is to help to improve understanding about the work of foundations, thereby becoming an important source of information for anyone wanting to know more about foundations in Denmark. Equally important, the Centre will boost the sharing of knowledge and experience between foundations, which increasingly collaborate on specific initiatives and projects.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation is one of the 34 foundations that have established the Centre.

Steffen Lüders, Head of Communication & Stakeholder Relations, Novo Nordisk Foundation, says, “The increasing volume of grants and activities is boosting the impact of foundations, but knowledge about foundations is relatively sparse. We believe a central place is needed that combines all the relevant information on foundations in Denmark and their activities.”
