New talent programme to strengthen innovation in the healthcare sector

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has awarded almost DKK 82 million to Aarhus University towards establishing a new national interdisciplinary talent and continuing education programme that will act as an incubator for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and creative leaders within healthcare technology and contribute to generating more start-ups.

The BioMedical Design – Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme, based at Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen, will accept 16 creative and talented applicants annually from Denmark and abroad. The Programme’s target group is experienced researchers, health professionals and specialists with a higher education degree.

Niels-Henrik von Holstein-Rathlou, Head of Research and Innovation Grants, Novo Nordisk Foundation, says: “In awarding a grant towards establishing this new national programme, the Novo Nordisk Foundation wants to strengthen Danish innovation in healthcare and contribute to developing new pioneering solutions.”
