The Copenhagen Bioscience Cluster is a Novo Nordisk Foundation initiative that started in 2007 with the creation of the first major research center, the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research at the University of Copenhagen.
Since then, the Novo Nordisk Foundation has distributed grants of around DKK 6.4 billion for the establishment and expansion of the Copenhagen Bioscience Cluster, where, among other things, three more centers have been added in the Copenhagen area.
The Bioscience Cluster is now known as the Science Cluster.
