Novo Nordisk Foundation supported the development of two talent programmes at University College Copenhagen: Copenhagen Honours College Science Teacher and Copenhagen Honours College in Nursing.

Copenhagen Honours College Science Teacher

In 2018, the Foundation awarded almost DKK 28 million over five years to Copenhagen Honours College Science Teacher. The programme is a supplementary educational programme for the most ambitious people studying to become science teachers at University College Copenhagen. The students can take a 2-year course equivalent to 6 months of full-time study (30 ECTS credit points) in addition to their standard programme.

The supplementary programme supports the students in getting an extra scientific boost and strengthening their professional self-confidence. The students are trained in developing specific courses and are able to participate in relevant research and development projects and to focus in-depth on disciplinary and interdisciplinary challenges.

Fifteen students are admitted to the programme every year.

Copenhagen Honours College in Nursing

In 2020, the Foundation awarded DKK 44,4 million over seven years to a new talent programme for nursing students at University College Copenhagen starting in autumn 2021. The project contributes to boosting recruitment to the nursing profession and strengthen nursing practice for older people with chronic diseases.

Copenhagen Honours College in Nursing is 2-year talent programme for the most motivated and ambitious students at University College Copenhagen with a special focus on giving students specialized competencies over and above their basic education to enable them to carry out individualized, coherent care trajectories of older people with a chronic disease.

During the seven-year project period, 120 students will have the opportunity to take a 2-year course equivalent to 6 months of full-time study (30 ECTS credits) in addition to their basic education. Fifteen students are admitted to the programme every 6 months.
