CBS-BIO is a MSc programme in Business Administration and Bioentrepreneurship that has joined forces with industry actors with the aim of supporting the continued growth of the life science sector in Denmark by educating and training Danish and international talents.

CBS-BIO graduates obtain a cross-disciplinary skillset that is relevant for intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship activities in life science companies, ranging from start-ups to established actors.

The two-year master’s programme was developed through collaboration between Copenhagen Business School (CBS), the Technical University of Denmark, and the University of Copenhagen, in partnership with key life science actors in Denmark, including Novo Nordisk A/S, Novozymes A/S, Chr. Hansen A/S, Lundbeck A/S and LEO Pharma A/S.

CBS-BIO combines a year of advanced biotechnology courses with a year of innovation and commercialization courses, hosted and supported by the participating life science companies. The students also work with the life science start-up environment, specifically focusing on entrepreneurship at BioInnovation Institute.

International students are actively sought for the programme. This dimension is ensured by collaboration with Nanyang Technical University, Singapore, CBS-BIO’s engagement in biotech hotspots in the United States, and the participating universities’ general recruitment of international students.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation awarded a grant of DKK 6.5 million to support the programme between 2021 and 2024.
