The Committee on Bioscience and Basic Biomedicine implements the Foundation Board’s granting decisions for the support of fundamental bioscientific or biomedical research projects in Denmark relevant for understanding the human organism and/or the basal mechanisms underlying health and disease.
The Board has decided to grant in 2026 up to DKK 307 million via the applications evaluated by the Committee on Bioscience and Basic Biomedicine. These funds are allocated to Postdoctoral Fellowships for research abroad (up to DKK 5 million per grant), Emerging, Ascending and Distinguished Investigator grants (up to DKK 12.5 million per grant) and to Project grants (up to DKK 4.5 million per grant). The Committee also implements the Board’s granting decision for the NNF Jacobæus Prize for Biomedicine.
The Committee on Bioscience and Basic Biomedicine was established in 2017 and consists of 12 members including a chair. The Board of Foundation appoints the Chair and the other members in accordance with the general rules covering the Foundation’s committees.
