Challenge Programme 2017

For the application round of 2017, the Challenge Programme sought to support outstanding research collaborations working within one of two selected themes. Up to DKK 360 million was awarded for grants of up to DKK 60 million each.

Theme 1: Big Data in Biomedicine

The specific challenge of this theme is focused specifically on development of novel methods for handling, analyzing and using large amounts of data (‘Big Data’) within the biomedical (basic and clinical), and do not support projects exclusively focused on big data collection.

Theme 2: Design and Engineering of Biological Molecules and Systems

The specific challenge of this theme is focused on development of novel bio-tools, such as small molecule enzyme analogues or next-generation drugs, and on solving challenges within bio-design and -engineering in microorganisms, mammalian cells or plants.
